Soldiers from the 82 Division in Enugu have trailed and smashed a gang of gunmen who have been terrorising the Enugu metropolis in recent weeks.
The gang was trailed to Amagunze in Nkanu East local government where the soldiers confronted them.
The new wave of attacks which started after three Hilux Vans attacked a super market in the Onu Asata area, has caused tension and fear.
The Asata robbery was a strange one as the gunmen who operated in three Hilux vans ended up carting off bags of rice, cartons of noodles and gas cylinders.
Since then Enugu has not known peace as two prominent persons have been assassinated while a police checkpoint was recently attacked and some police men killed. ##
