Ogoja/Yala bye election: exercise peaceful— Sen Jarigbe
Sen. Jerigbe Agom Jarigbe representing Cross River North on the platform of PDP has described the ongoing bye election for Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency as peaceful.and orderly.
Jarigbe said this on Saturday after casting his vote at polling unit 005 Ibil-Nkum Ogoja Local Government Area.
The senator added that the current voting system was smooth and peaceful and praised INEC for the exercise.
“The exercise.is peaceful and very orderly. This system will guarantee a credible process and rigging is not possible,” he said.
He comended Mr President for signing the electoral bill, saying that it.will bring sanity to the election process in Nigeria.
“It will strengthen the election process in Nigeria, ” he said.
He also lauded the orderly conduct of security personnel at the polling unis.
The exercise has been peaceful in most polling units visited, except for polling unit 002 Nkum Iborr where the process was temporarily disrupted but the security quickly resolved the matter to allow voting to continue.
The Polling Officer, Miss Ukpi Dorcas, a Corps member said the disruption followed an argument over non wearing of t tag by one of the party agents.
