MAJOR GENERAL TAOREED LAGBAJA; EMERGENCE OF A DISCIPLINED MAN OF HONOR AND INTEGRITY AS THE HEAD OF THE NIGERIAN ARMY.
The little experience we had in respect of Major General Taoreed Lagbaja when he was the Commanding Officer of the 82 Division of the Nigerian Army Enugu, leaves us with no option than to congratulate this courageous and intelligent army general on his emergence as the Chief of Army Staff.
He did his best in the course of his duty and performed exemplary particularly in respect of civilian /military relationship.
Most times he was on ground to personally lead the troops in their efforts in combating crimes in the society.
It is good news when we heard that he was also leading troops personally in their onslaught against the bandits in the Northwest Nigeria, when he was redeployed from the 82 Division of the Nigerian Army Enugu, and made the General Officer Commanding the 1st Mechanized Division of the Nigerian Army Kaduna.
General Lagbaja, as you are appointed to lead the largest Army Infantry in Africa, we hope that you will replicate at the National level the exemplary qualities you exhibited in various Divisions of the Nigerian Army where you earlier served.
Security, protection of lives and properties are the hallmarks of every democracy in the world and the citizens of this country needed these most at this critical time of our nation.
We advised you to maintain your bravery and posture of humility that endeared you to many and ensure that the welfare of the officers and men of the Nigerian Army are made your highest priority in order to succeed in the task ahead.
Furthermore we urge you to ensure that respect for the human rights of citizens of this great country are uphold at all times in al civilian /military relationship.
