Hon. Mark Gbillah led adhoc committee of the house of representatives probing stolen of 48 million barrels of crude oil has threatened to take legal action against members of the George Uboh led whistle blowers network over spurious allegation against the committee.
George Uboh led whistle blowers network stormed the main entrance to the National assembly on Tuesday against the adhoc committee set up by the house of representatives to investigate the alleged stolen crude oil subsequently solid in china for proceed of $ 4.8 billion.
The protesters that was led by ambassador Joseph Peter umoh denounced the setting up of the adhoc committee by the house of representatives.
They also alleged that the house did not receive any petition from them to Warrent such investigation and that hon Mark Gbillah led adhoc committee did not include them in the list of witness that was invited for public herring.
The whistle blowers of felt that adhoc committee should take their hands off the matter sins the matter is already in court.
But hours after, in a telephone conversation with newsmen covering the senate, the chairman of the adhoc committee Hon, Mark Gbillah said the George Uboh whistle blowers network were nothing but rabble in rousers in the matters at hand. He dismissed all the allegation made against his committee and the house.
He said, in the first place the information on stolen 48 million barrels of crude oil was not given to me but by Jackson y Odey in far away in united state of america through a publication in 2020.
Secondly, there is nothing sub judice in the mandate given to the adhoc committee by resolution of the house which took effect three clear months before the so called whistle blowers went to court.
Finally, members of the George Uboh led Whistle blowers network are hiding behind a finger by alleging that they were not invited by the committee as part of witness after earlier pleaded to be treated as anonymous and after meeting with the committee behind closed door with request for compensation which was not granted to them.
