Dr Ambrose Igboke, Chairman of Guild of Public Affairs Analysts in Enugu State, has described the immediate past Minister of Power, Mr Adebayo Adelabu, as the worst power minister Nigeria has had since the beginning of the 4th republic in 1999.
Speaking in a Channels Television show, Igboke said that the former minister shamelessly boasted of reaching a mere 6,000 megawatts of electricity generation for a country with over 200 million people.
He said: “The audacity of failure is indeed a platform for adulation in Nigeria’s politics.
“Mr. Adelabu, in my estimation is the worst power minister since the 4th Republic began in 1999. “
He said that Adelabu was one of the power ministers that had brought untold hardship to Nigerians since the present civilian administration in the country.
“He is the one who threatened Nigerians that if we refused to accept tariff increase we will all go blackout, ” Igboke said.
He described as unfortunate the former Minister’s failure in the power sector, saying that when smaller countries are boasting of 40,000 mega watts of electricity, Adelabu is boasting of 6000 mega watts for a country of over 200 million people.
“Going by his scored card, I can say that the scorecard of the minister is abysmally low and he should not use that for his campaign at all for becoming governor of Oyo State, ” he said.
