COPEN Group has unveiled a major 2,000-unit housing development, with an initial first-phase delivery of 400 housing units, alongside the launch of its Urban Home Front Application, designed to simplify access to housing finance and property ownership across Nigeria.
The unveiling took place during the COPEN Brand Showcase, Stakeholder Appreciation and Strategic Housing Engagement 2026, themed “A Home for Every Dream… A House for Every Pocket”, held on Tuesday, 9 June, at the Amadeo Event Centre, Enugu. The event attracted strong participation from key government stakeholders, representatives from the housing, finance, faith-based, and public sectors, as well as members of the general public.
The Group Managing Director of COPEN, Dr Ugochukwu Chime, presented the flagship Spring City Housing Development, located at Umuchigbo, Iji Nike, Enugu, describing it as part of a long-term vision to deliver structured, affordable, and well-planned residential communities. He noted that the project is being developed in phases, beginning with 400 units, to ensure quality delivery and accessibility.
Dr Chime also reassured participants that the initiative is designed to help individuals and families achieve sustainable home ownership. He further acknowledged the support of the Enugu State Government and the host communities towards the success of the project.
He highlighted the significance of the Spring City Housing Project, noting that its impact extends beyond housing delivery to economic growth, infrastructural development, employment creation, empowerment, and broader community development.
The GMD also unveiled the “Brother-Sister Help Me Own a House” initiative aimed at encouraging collective support towards home ownership.
The initiative is backed by key institutions, including the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), and AG Mortgage Bank (AGMB). The Enugu State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA), the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, among others, commended COPEN’s efforts towards expanding mortgage access and making home ownership more achievable for Nigerians.
A major highlight of the event was the introduction of the Urban Home Front Application, a digital platform designed to streamline property subscription, documentation, and mortgage processing in collaboration with partner institutions.
Stakeholders present commended COPEN’s growing role in housing delivery and investment facilitation, noting its consistent development of structured estates and communities that support middle-income home ownership.
Testimonies from long-standing partners and clients further affirmed COPEN’s track record of business integrity, credibility, and timely project delivery.
