A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State, Sir Engr Ucheonwu Prince-Henry Hart, has commended the Governor of Enugu State, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for what he described as a “remarkably successful and hitch-free convention,” both at the state level and the party’s national convention held in Abuja.
In a statement made available to journalists, Hart lauded the governor’s “capacity, coordination, and leadership dexterity,” noting that the seamless mobilisation and airlifting of a large number of delegates from Enugu State to Abuja demonstrated administrative competence and commitment to party unity.
“Governor Mbah displayed uncommon class and capacity in ensuring that Enugu State was not only well represented but stood out in both participation and performance at the national convention,” he said.
Hart further extended his appreciation to the Chairman of Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area, Chijoke Ezugwu, for what he termed “visionary leadership and grassroots inclusiveness.”
According to him, the council boss played a pivotal role in ensuring that delegates and party faithful from Uzo-Uwani were actively involved in the convention, thereby fostering a strong sense of belonging.
“Hon. Barr Chijoke Ezugwu has shown exceptional magnanimity and leadership by facilitating the full participation of Uzo-Uwani delegates. His commitment reflects true grassroots governance,” Hart stated.
The APC stalwart also reeled out several achievements of the council chairman, attributing them to purposeful leadership and a people-oriented administration. These, he said, include improved security across Uzo-Uwani communities, which has restored peace and enabled residents to return to their normal economic activities.
“Today, Uzo-Uwani enjoys relative peace and tranquility due to the chairman’s proactive measures against insecurity,” he noted.
Other projects cited include the construction of boreholes across multiple communities, installation of electricity transformers to boost socio-economic activities, and the provision of employment opportunities for indigenes as part of poverty alleviation efforts.
Hart also highlighted key infrastructural developments such as the asphalting of Amidi Road linking Nsukka, the construction of the Igbo-Ano market to enhance commercial activities, and the establishment of a police command in Nkpologu, equipped with solar-powered facilities to strengthen security operations.
Additionally, he praised the renovation of the local government secretariat and chairman’s quarters, as well as the construction of the Dr Peter Mbah administrative complex aimed at improving governance efficiency.
“Barr Ezugwu is a trailblazer, a pathfinder, and a quintessential leader whose impacts are visible across all sectors of Uzo-Uwani,” he added.
Reaffirming political alignment, Hart pledged unwavering support for the APC across all levels of government, emphasising the need for sustained unity and electoral success.
He also congratulated Dr Ben Nwoye on his emergence as the APC National Deputy Chairman (South), and Oby Ajih on her appointment as the party’s Southeast Zonal Woman Leader.
“We remain committed to delivering victory for our great party from the federal to the grassroots level. Our tomorrow is indeed here,” Hart concluded.
