Onyenji, charged the creative in the state to form a formidable force that would provide needed positives narratives in the industry to boost Anambra’s image and its creative economy
He said that the meeting was apt because there is need to nip the wrong narratives been pushed into the media space which de markets the state and its public in the name public entertainment.
“We want to ensure that all the energy in the industry are harnessed to touch lives softly in a sweet way, since Governor Chukwuma Soludo is passionate about developing the sector for the good of the creative and that of the populace,” he said.
Onyenji said that the first ever Anambra Creative Week will soon hold; where all the artists, content creators, broadcasters, DJs, Musicians, actors and actresses, among others, would gather and stage a show for themselves and others.
He recall that the opening of “Solution Fun City” a recreational facility during which the governor invited so many artists was one way he has shown that he valued their talents and is ready to give them opportunity to shine.
Speaking at the event, the Senior Special Assistant to Soludo on Entertainment, Mr Bob-Manuel Udokwu, a veteran actor, called for a state brand; instead of individual brands for quicker development of the industry.
Udokwu regretted that conspiracy theory has remained the bane of development of the industry in Anambra, calling for a synergy and unity of purpose among the creative.
Mr Chris Molokwu ,The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Station ,(ABS), noted that before now, people see artists as unserious people, but that there has been turn of events where they are now needed.
Molokwu advised the creative to positively maintain the new narrative where the are valued and frowned at the manner with which they paint Anambra black and blow issues out of proportion.
He said that such negative vibes gives the state a negative status around the world, which he said dwindles chances of people coming into the state for business and relaxation.
Molokwu charged them to use their power to project the state and all the good works of the governor, expressing happiness that Anambra has a lot of quality people in the industry.
