The umbrella revolution is gathering steam ahead of 2019 as several All Progressives Congress (APC) are not just following the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s example of quitting the party, but are taking shade under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
It was authoritatively gathered that the entire weekend will witness massive defections to the PDP, with the Amanda Filing Station, Rigachikun in Igabi Local Government Area witnessing the first action on Saturday December 2.
It was reliably gathered that APC Stalwart, Alhaji Yaro Makama and thousands of his supporters would formally take the shade of the umbrella at that gathering.
The following day which is Sunday December 3, will yet witness another mega defection of APC members to the PDP at a ceremony billed for the Anchau Township Stadium, where many other APC Chieftains are expected to dump the party for PDP.
Though Atiku is yet to formally pick up PDP card, many suspect that he would settle for the party ahead of the 2019 Presidential polls, where he is tipped to be favourite.
It is being speculated that the weekend defections would shake the ruling party to its roots as its supporters in the grassroots leave in droves.
