As untoward as it might resonate, the highest terrestrial achievement of a man is the acquisition of political power. As a consequence, the most volatile activity is politics.
In Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South, it has reached it’s crescendo. It is time to set the motion on the right course and enlighten the people on the need for continuity in Federal representation in the constituency.
The drafters of our Constitution in their jurisprudential wisdom gave the Lawmakers the leeway for countless terms. In Ojo Theophilus V State, the supreme Court held that what is not expressly prohibited by the law is impliedly permitted.
The Southeast is in search of political Leadership. The zone has been without leadership, without leaders of wit and instinct of a protective mother. We have roamed the Nigerian political firmament bullied and dispossessed like a luckless orphan by northern political reptiles. Asadu is in the league of proximate saviours of the zone. He can squeeze water of peace out of hard rocks, and yet can cause war when war would save lives.
Southeast lost the Senate president because APC in the zone could not produce a ranking senator as at the time of consideration. We will not risk the speakership because of a neophytic first timer.
Luke 6:10 says “whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much”.
Asadu gave us National Open University in Nsukka. He championed football tournaments in millions of naira. He fed the poor,needy and indigents. He gave scholarship and is still giving to the indigent students at all the levels of education.
My dear brothers and sisters from Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South federal constituency, I plead that we exercise patience so that we will eat big. 2019 general election in the country is heavily pregnant and our prayer is that it will give birth to a position that will throw up Nsukka to lime light once again.
