Some prominent party leaders in the South East, including Foreign Affairs Minister Geoffrey Onyeama and former Enugu State governor, Dr. Chimaroke Nnamani have endorsed the candidature of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as national chairman of the APC.
They also threw their weight behind a former Secretary to Enugu State Government, Chief Onyemuche Nnamani, for the position of national vice chairman (South East).
Other notable party leaders who equally showed support for the duo included the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Judicial Reform, Mrs. Juliet Ibekaku and the Woman Leader of the APC in Enugu State, Mrs. Queen Nwankwo.
FirstNews learnt that a former military governor of Imo State, Navy Commodore James Aneke (rtd) and the current Nigerian Ambassador to India, Maj-Gen. Chris Eze (rtd) and Maj Gen. Sunday Ugwu (rtd) have all declared support for the duo.

It was gathered that former president of the Senate, Ken Nnamani and a former governor of old Anambra State, Chief Jim Nwobodo, might be inclined towards both Oshiomhole and Onyemuche Nnamani but for the latter’s membership of APC’s National Convention Committee and Nwobodo’s decision to play the role of an elder-statesman.
The politicians, who spoke in Enugu, said that both Oshiomhole and Onyemuche were a great pair that would lead the party to victory in the coming elections considering their wealth of experience and grassroots bases.
