2023: Party chieftain predicts fall of PDP in Enugu State
The Enugu North Zonal Chairman of Labour Party (LP), Mr Kingsley Ugwu says the parry will dethrone the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 election in Udenu Local Government Area and Enugu State in general.
Ugwu made the ascertion at the unveiling of the Obollo Etiti ward office of labour party at Umumkpu, Obollo Etiti, Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State.
According to him, his optimism was based on the massive turnout of people at the event inspite of very short notice.
“I am amazed by what I have seen here today. This huge turnout is an evidence that the popularity of PDP is fast fading and labou part is gradually taken over.
“I am optimistic that the PDP will lose to labour in all positions in 2023, not only in Udenu, but Enugu State at large, ” he said.
In a related development, the chairman of LP in Udenu Local Government Area, Mr Hillary Ossai, said that the inauguration of the party office was a mission fulfilled.
“The journey as witnessed today has yielded dividend in our quest to transform the political landscape of Udenu and Enugu State in general, ” he said.
Ossai enjoined the people to work hard by moving door to door to mobilize the neighborhood ahead of 2023.
“Labour Party is a movement and we must move around to take this ward in 2023, ” he said.
Speaking, one of the party chieftains, Col. Aaron Ugwu (retd) lauded the party stakeholders in the ward for realising the project.
He said that the PDP has outlived it’s usefulness in Enugu State and must be voted out in 2023.
“We have no option than to show the PDP the way out in 2023.
“After 23 years: we have nothing to show; so, it is time to move away from the past and embrace the current movement, ” he said.
Labour party bigwigs that attended the event included Engr. Obinna Ijere, candidate to the Enugu State House of Assembly, Patricia Abonyi (State Female Football Coach) and Elder Barth Ugwu.
Others are Pastor Dennis Ogbonna, Dr Chijioke Nwaodo, Jude Ogbu among others.
