The deteriorating situation was evident in the recent decision of the deputy governor to abandon his office and official quarters for his village in Achi, Mbieri in Mbaitoli local government.
It was the end of a romance when Madumere rejected the Governor’s directive to support Uche Nwosu for 2019 Imo Governorship and go for Owerri Senatorial Position.
To express his anger and disappointment, the Mbaitoli born Deputy Governor of Imo State and former Chief of Staff to Governor Rochas Okorocha initially threw away his muffler which has remained his symbol of loyalty and identity symbolizing his bond and believe in anything Okorocha.
Madumere who described Okorocha’s decision against his aspiration as a betrayal, is expected to officially declare for the governorship an ambition which he says is not for him alone but the people of Owerri zone.
Okorocha’s decade long friend and political ally Madumere was reported to have told the Governor “you can support your Son-in-law, but for me, I am in the race for governorship come 2019”.
Madumere has maintained unquestionable loyalty to his boss until the issues surrounding the 2019 governorship elections came up.
