Workable Partners for Gburugburu hails ENSIEC over free, fair LG elections in Enugu
A socio political organization, Workable Partners for Gburugburu 2019, has commended the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) for conducting what they described as a free, fair and credible Local Government election in the state.
The organization made the statement in press release signed by the State Coordinator, Hon. Peter Nnaji, and the Director of Media, Hon. Emmanuel Jonathan, on Tuesday in Enugu.
The group maintained that the poll was carried out in accordance with the law guiding the conduct of elections in the country and also in line with international best practices.
“We effectively observed the conduct of the election across the state through our members who are indigenes of the 260 wards in the state.They updated us with the activities that took place in their various political wards during the election and maintained that this was the best local government election ever conducted in the state.
“Unlike what we used to experience like non-availability of electoral materials in the past, ENSIEC under the current administration made sure that electoral materials were distributed to all the polling units, though it arrived late in some polling units due to some
constraints like transportation among others.
“We recommend that this election should be a template to other state governments across the country yet to conduct their Local Government elections,” They said.
While commending the Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for providing enabling environment for the conduct of the LG elections in the state, the group said that such quality of the Governor was what informed their reason to support and partner his
administration to take the state to the next level.
The organization hailed the good people of Enugu state for their unwavering support to the Governor adding that their efforts would be highly rewarding as the governor was determined to administer dividends of democracy to the state.
