NDCCITMA Chairman Bags Change and Good Governance Award
The Chairman of the Niger Delta Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Trade, Mines and Agriculture (NDCCITMA), Chief Idaere Gogo-Ogan, has received the Change and Good Governance Award from the Independent Magazine Publishers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN).
IPMAN President, Prince Jude Ubaka, said the award recognised Gogo-Ogan’s vision, distinguished service record, enterprise leadership and commitment to national development.
Ubaka stated this in his speech at the award presentation ceremony.
“There is a difference between occupying a position and giving meaning to that position. There is a difference between possessing influence and using that influence to create opportunities for others.
“There is also a difference between speaking about development and building partnerships that can make it a reality.
“It is on these virtues that the Independent Magazine Publishers Association of Nigeria proudly recognises Chief Idaere Gogo-Ogan,” he said.
Ubaka said Gogo-Ogan’s experience in regional economic cooperation, investment promotion and entrepreneurship development was demonstrated by the success of the recently concluded Niger Delta Economic and Investment Summit in Port Harcourt.
He said IPMAN was committed to recognising individuals and organisations with innovative ideas and demonstrable achievements.
Responding, Gogo-Ogan commended IPMAN for recognising his contributions and those of NDCCITMA to the development of the Niger Delta.
He said the mandate given to the Chambers by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to promote and develop micro, small and medium-sized enterprises must be fulfilled.
Gogo-Ogan said NDCCITMA was committed to delivering on the mandate under the leadership of the NDDC Managing Director, Chief Samuel Ogbuku.
He attributed the Chambers’ achievements to the support it had received from the NDDC since its establishment.
The NDCCITMA chairman reaffirmed the organisation’s readiness to partner with relevant stakeholders to promote economic growth and sustainable development in the Niger Delta.
