The National Broadcasting Commission has queried Channels Television over an interview with Gov. Samuel Ortom of Benue State.
The commission said the query issued on Thursday followed “inciting, divisive and unfair comments” made by the governor during a programme, ‘Sunrise Daily’ on Tuesday.
Folloing the query, the ommission has also summoned Channels Tv reporters, Chamberlain Usor and Kayode Okikiolu to Abuja over the interview.
Ortom had during the interview said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s way of handling insecurity in the country was disappointing.
He also alleged that Buhari’s agenda regarding cattle ranching was to “fulanize Nigeria, but he is not the first Fulani president”.
A source at Channels Tv said the presenters were on their way to Abuja to honour an invitation by the NBC.
”They were invited because of the interview with Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom. I don’t have much details yet,” the source added. ##
