Ijaw Elders Forum celebrates Chairman Bukazi Etete at 86
The Ijaw Elders Forum (IEF), Lagos, has felicitated its Chairman, Chief Bukazi Etete, on his 86th birthday.
The forum described Etete as a distinguished elder statesman who had devoted his life to the service of the Ijaw Nation.
In a goodwill message signed by its Secretary, Efiye Bribena, the forum said Etete had consistently stood for the dignity, unity and rights of the Ijaw people.
It said his leadership of the IEF Lagos had been marked by wisdom, courage and commitment to the interests of the Ijaw Nation.
The forum, in the message, commended his advocacy for constitutional governance and the development of the Niger Delta.
It said his counsel, integrity and commitment to public service had earned him respect beyond the Ijaw community.
The IEF joined the Ijaw Professionals Association, Ijaw Nation Forum, Izon Ebi Club and Embassara Foundation in celebrating the milestone.
The organisations prayed for many more years of strength and continued service to the Ijaw Nation.
The IEF has in recent months maintained an active advocacy role on issues affecting Ijaw interests, including constitutional governance and Niger Delta development.
