Seven selected youths from the seven villages making up Agulu-Awka were today empowered with Tri-Circle, popular called KEKE by ULONESE, a community and welfare group in Awka.
Conducting the handover to youths from the following villages who found themselves worthy; Umuogbu, umubele, umuike, umuonanaga, umujaguo, umuenechi, umuoruka, Hon. Emeka Igwe said youths will be getting more focus and according to his mantra, youth empowerment is topmost in his agenda.
Igwe considered this community service as one of the panacea for reducing crime among the youth and the reduction of other social vises.
Emeka Igwe also used the opportunity to remind the youths that education is vital and very important to their development. He use the opportunity to announce his readiness to give scholarship to any youth from Agulu Awka who is intelligent and shown interest in education.
You may recall that at recent 25th anniversary of Nnamdi Azikiwe University’s Student Union Government, where he was the guest speaker and an awardee, Emeka Igwe gave scholarship to 10 undergraduates of the institution of Awka extraction.
Handing the keys to the lucky youths, Igwe enjoin them to be of good behaviour and add value to their respective communities.
