…ASKS NSIMA EKERE TO RUN FOR GOVERNORSHIP
NATIONAL Youth Caucus of the All Progressives Congress(APC), weekend , unanimously endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari as the sole presidential candidate of the party in the 2019 Presidential election.
Obong Iniobong John, who moved the motion for his adoption after the inauguration of the Akwa Ibom state chapter of the National Youth Caucus, said the achievements recorded by Buhari have necessitated the call for his second term.
John said ,” with the record of achievements of the president in security, especially in his administration’s ability in degrading Boko Haram terrorists who had colonized parts of the North East is worth commending.
“The laudable achievement of the present administration in fight against corruption which has enhanced our diplomatic image in the comity of nations must be sustained with Buhari return for another four year tenure”.

Obong John who is the National Youth Caucus chairman Akwa Ibom State chapter, added that President Buhari records of achievement within the past two years have so far surpassed the record of 16 years of PDP governance in the country.
The Akwa Ibom State National Youth Caucus also considered the activities of Governor Udom Emmanuel in the state and resolved to prevail on the Managing Director of NDDC, Obong Nsima Ekere, to contest for the Governorship election in the state by 2019.
The state chairman of APC, Dr. Amadu Atai, in his address at the inauguration ceremony commended the National Youth Caucus for declaring support for President Buhari and endorsing him for a second term.
He stated that, “Our choice of APC and support for President Buhari is predicated on the sincerity of purpose and honest intention of Mr. President to return Nigeria back to her winning ways and former days of glory.
“The good intentions of APC can be gleaned from the various programme earmarked by the Party and steadily being implemented for the benefit and welfare of Nigerians.”
APC, he added is a youth friendly Party as evidenced in the priority and emphasis given to various social investment schemes of the Federal government aimed at alleviating the sufferings of Nigerian youths such as; (1) Conditional Cash Transfer (2) Home Grown School Feeding (3) N-Power and (4) General Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP).
“This is not to mention the huge resources expended by government to remedy and provide succour to numerous other challenges confronting”, Atai said.
The inauguration which was chaired by Rt Hon. Emma Bassey had attendance representatives of Rt. Hon. G N Sammeni, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Matters, Hon Nasir Adhama , Senior Special Assistant to the President on Youths and Student’s Matters and Hon Ibrahim Dasuki Kalo, APC National Youth Leader.
Others were; Obong Kufre Inyangette, APC State Vice Chairman for Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District and his Eket counterpart, Pastor Emmanuel Oton as well as the representative of MD NDDC, Rt Hon Emmanuel Ukoette. Also present at the event included; Rt Hon. Ignatius Edet, Hon. Micheal James, Prof. Chris Ekong, Chief Windy Isong, Otuekong Uyio Nathaniel, SSA on Security & Youth Matters as well as the 31 LG chairmanship/Running Mates and Councillorship candidates.
