Zakat Payment: Muslim Ummah Charged To Attract Allah’s Blessings, As ZSF Distributes Goods Worth Millions Of Naira. From Chukwudi Ejimofor, Port Harcourt.Muslim Ummah in Rivers state performed the Islamic annual ritual. As Zakat Foundation Disbursed Goods Worth Millions Of Naira In Port Harcourt.Zakat is the 2.5 percent of total annual wealth returns of any Muslim Ummah to Allah in fulfillment of Muslim’s core values of arms giving, which has to be distributed to the needy and the less privileged Muslim in the society.

And Sadqzat is the arms renderes to the less privileged in the Muslim society.Speaking during the Zakat and Sadqzat distribution of varieties of items, ranging from Deep freezers, Sowing Machines, Lab Tops, Gas Ovens, domestic appliances, medical support for the sick and financial supports for the enablement of members for acquisition of skills.Prince Sulaiman Olagunji, the Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer Zakat and Sadqzat Foundation (ZSF) Lagos State admonished Muslim Ummah to pay their 2.5 percent of their wealth returns to Allah to attract more wealth from the Almighty Allah. He said “So anybody who supposed to pay Zakat and refuses to pay is eating what Allah is given to him and the one Allah kept for Himself he is also eaten it, which is very bad. That is why once your wealth has reached the somewhere, pay your Zakat, just 2.5 percent. Zakat doses not make wealth to get finished, rather it attracts blessing, attracting the wealth to increase”.Prince Sulaiman Olagunji who was represented by Jatto Rasheed the administrative officer Zakat and Sadqzat Foundation, Edo State who poured encomium on the local organizing committee of the programme for their tireless efforts towards the success of the 2026 Zakat distribution exercise.”On behalf of the executive director of Zakat Foundation, Prince Sulaiman Olagunji who is unavoidable absent, I appreciate every member of this community who has worked tirelessly, night and day to ensure that this programme is successful. May the Almighty Allah reward you with Aljannah”. The Executive Director further highlighted the amount of money spent in the states the Zakat foundation has performed the distribution exercise.”The foundation shared ourselves to different parts of the country performing the Zakat distribution. We have visited Edo where we disbursed over Twelve Million Naira worth of items. In Warri, we disbursed goods a little above six million Naira. In Bayelsa it was Three million Naira, and here in Rivers state its Four million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira. We are still going to Akwa Ibom state, and at least Twenty-Eight states in the country this years.” “We pray to Allah to reward the Zakat payers and Sadqzat givers with Aljannah. Zakat is the right of Allah in our wealth. The Zakat in our wealth belongs to Allah”. Speaking on behalf of the local organizing committee and Muslim Ummah in Rivers state, Alhaji Nasiru Uhor, the Rivers state Islamic leader and the Chairman South South Muslim Forum informed the audience that the local organizing committee is the facilitator of the Zakat distribution exercise not the authority behind it.”I am very much touched to see all of us gathered here for this year’s edition of Zakat distribution. Please I want you all to note that we are the local organizing committee ZSF, we don’t take their decisions for them. What we do is to gather the names of potential beneficiaries, we screen them as directed by ZSF, and we forward the names. They sit down to screen them too on their own. I am sure they contracted you personally?” He asked the beneficiaries “Anybody who did not receive this time does not mean that she is not qualified. Maybe those who received today may not received subsequent ones. Let nobody go about saying the council hates him, or because he does not know the leaders; please it’s not true. Please have faith in Allah and believe that when its your turn you will get it” Allhaj Uhor admonished.Alhaji Nasiru Uhor who is also the Vice President General, Rivers state council for Islamic Affairs encouraged Muslim faithful to be consistence in paying their Zakat as it will attract more funding for the state and subsequently more beneficiaries from the state will increase”.He opined further “You can see that the small money that comes, more beneficiaries. So pray and support the council, pray for Zakat and Sadqzat foundation. We are happy that the foundation has choosing us the council to be their local organizing committee members”.Earlier the Chairman of the event and the royal father, His Majesty, Alhaji Husaini Isah Madaki, Sarkin Hausawa in Rivers state and the Chairman Northern Traditional Council Rivers State thanked the LOC for a job well done. He described Zakat phenomenon in Islam as one of the foundation of Islam, urged Muslim Ummah to perform and guide it jealously.”We all gathered here to perform one of the pillars of Islam which is to distribution of Zakat to the needy and the less privileges”. “Let me also commend the committee for their tireless and tenacity towards achieving this goal. May the Almighty Allah reward them abundantly. I urge all as you all here to maintain decorum for us to achieve this laudable programme”.Some of the beneficiaries of the exercise, Alhaji Mohammed Isobo, from Egbeda, who had a fractured leg through accident received medical support. Abdullah Halima and Zainab Idris all thanked the foundation for the gesture and pledged to use it judiciously. The event featured prays and sighting of the Holy Korean from Imam and Islamic scholar. There were goodwill messages, advised beneficiaries to put the donated items into proper use and utilize them for what they were donated for, not to resale any of them.Dignitaries that graced the event were Alabo Alhaji Kalio, Chairman Rivers state indigenous Muslim community.
