National Honours: Pro-APC forum says Emma Eneukwu is “the Lincoln of Our Time”
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Intellectuals Forum has congratulated the APC Deputy National Chairman (South), Chief Emma Eneukwu, on his conferment of the Officer of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (OFR).
“Chief Eneukwu is the shining light of the East and remains the Abraham Lincoln of Our Time,” the leadership of the forum said in a statement made available to newsmen in Enugu on Monday.
The statement was jointly signed by its Enugu State Coordinator, Chief Nicholas Ezeugwu; the Secretary, Dr Chidubem Udeh; and Publicity Secretary, Prof. Ugochukwu Nnamani.
It would be recalled that Eneukwu is among the 339 persons who were given various National Honours on Sunday by the Federal Government as announced by the Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Abuja.
The statement said that Eneukwu’s positive-looking leadership style as well as willingness to harness the potentials of youths had put him on the map, “as a leader with a golden heart”.
It said that the recognition/award was a sign that his accomplishments and inputs for the growth of the ruling APC and country is noticed and thus, appreciated by the country’s leaders.
According to the statement, we congratulate our own son and leader, Hon Emmanuel Ikechukwu Eneukwu on his conferment as an Officer of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (OFR).
“Being selected out of over 200 million Nigerians all over the world is an indication of his sterling performance as a leader as well as disposition to accommodate everybody and also harness the potentials of the youths.
“We are very proud to have a son and leader like you because you have always shown that leadership is all about the people and making positive impacts in the society.
“Just like Abraham Lincoln, you have always been the Lincoln of Our Time,” it said.
The statement appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari for deeming it necessary to recognise the contributions made by Eneukwu to national development which prompted the conferment of the National Honour on him.
“We are grateful and pray for an easy transition of power,” it added.
Among other outstanding Nigerians for the National Honours, who have achieved notable feat across fields of human endeavours included: famous singer Davido, Filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan, Super Eagles Striker, Victor Osimhen.
