APDG OPENS SECRETARIAT (annex)
The Achi Political Dialogue Group (APDG), a think thank organization that has the mandate through the MKPUKE to ensure the protection of Achi interest especially in the area of politics has opened the Secretariat (Annex) at London House situated at Ekegbo Nkpokolo Achi in Oji River local government area of Enugu State.
The event, which was part of the one year anniversary activities of APDG), had a capacity crowd of stakeholders in Achi including the Deputy Governorship Candidate of Labour Party in the last March 18th election, Dr John Okechukwu Nwokeabia who was the Special Guest of Honour.
Others are, Igwe Sunday Orah (Ezeabata), Igwe JC Egwuatu (Igwe di oha Mma ), Chief Emma Obi (Obatauluadinma), Chief Jude Ogwulu and many other dignitaries.
In his opening speech the Convener of APDG, Barrister Maxi Okwu (Ikenecheoha2) noted that early in March 2022, the call for MKPUKE was like a joke.
He added: “But with the kind of political wilderness the Achi people were going through in many years of PDP leadership it dawned on the few people who were passionate about the interest of Achi to come together to discuss the way forward.
“Today the rest is history as Chijioke Okereke an Achi son is today a Federal House of Representatives member elect,
“Hon Osita Eze, a member elect Enugu State House of Assembly and Dr John Okechukwu Nwokeabia the Deputy Governorship Candidate of labour Party.”
He thanked Achi people for their commitment during the elections that led to the victory of Labour Party Candidates from Achi and his members of Imeobi such as Nze Jeff Ukeh the treasurer of the APDG.
DR Mcginger Ibeneme, Barrister Chinyere Gbugu, Hon Chuks Adibe, Chief Emma Obi and many other people who are members of the APDG.
Speaking, the Deputy Governorship Candidate of Labour Party in Enugu State, Dr John Okechukwu Nwokeabia went down memory lane.
He reminded the gathering of the good old days when Achi had men, who prepared what the present crop of people were standing on to discharge the Ogagagwuagwu spirit.
“Which these benefactors bequeathed on the Achi people which though was on the brink of collapsing before the APDG came on board to rescue Achi in a grand style, ” he said.
He called on all Achi people both at home and in diaspora to come back and move Achi to where it rightly belongs in the commity of the old greater Awgu.
Highlight of the event a special MKPUKE session at the Compound of the convener.
