Edeoga finally emerges LP candidate,.vows to dismantle PDP
Chijioke Edeoga on Thursday emerged as the Gubernatorial Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Enugu State.
In a delegate primary election held at Top 10 Hotel, Gulf Estate, Enugu, Edoga, who was the only aspirant scored 81 out of 85 accredited delegates to emerge the winner.
In his acceptance speech, Edeoga thanked the delegates for their believe in him, adding that, their trust will not be in vain.
“You have made the right choice, I will not disappoint you. I will begin my consultation from ward to ward.
“I will make sure that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is dead in Enugu State,” he said.
Edeoga, who was a Commissioner in the outgoing administration of Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi said he was a founding member of the PDP in the state: “so I have the capacity to dismantle the PDP in the state.”
“So, if there is anybody who knows the in and out of PDP, I am the one, ” he said.
The primary election which was conducted by the deputy national secretary of LP, Mr Kennedy Ahandu was attended by delegates from the 17 Local Government Areas of the state.
According to the electoral committee chairman, 85 delegates were accredited for the primary.
The fresh election became necessary following the withdrawal of, Mr Casmir Agbo, who withdrew to remain state chairman of the party.
