PAP Deploys anotyer 54 Postgraduate Scholarship Beneficiaries to UK
A bath of 54 beneficiaries of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) offshore postgraduate scholarship have departed Nigeria for the United Kingdom.
The beneficiaries departed Abuja and arrived in London on Friday to commence postgraduate studies in various universities across the UK.
Mr Igoniko Oduma, Special Assistant on Media to the PAP Administrator, Dr Dennis Otuaro, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.
Oduma said the beneficiaries were part of 150 scholars who underwent a pre-departure orientation in August.
He said their deployment brought to 243 the number of offshore postgraduate scholarship beneficiaries deployed by Otuaro in 2026.
According to him, the scholars will undertake programmes including software engineering, cybersecurity, global public health and oil and gas engineering.
Others are law, fintech analytics, construction engineering management, forensic auditing and data science analytics, among others.
Otuaro urged the scholars to take their studies seriously and remain good ambassadors of Nigeria and the Niger Delta.
He also advised them to respect the laws of the UK and comply with the rules and regulations of their respective institutions.
The administrator said the beneficiaries were expected to return home after completing their programmes and contribute to community development and nation-building.
“Education is the vehicle for the socio-economic advancement and sustainable peace and stability of the Niger Delta.
“Investing in the education of the youths of the region is a sure way of guaranteeing a greater and better tomorrow for the region,” he said.
Otuaro attributed the scholarship deployments to the support of President Bola Tinubu for the PAP under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He also expressed appreciation to the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) for its support and guidance to the programme.
The administrator commended other stakeholders for their cooperation and encouragement toward the successful implementation of the scholarship scheme.
“We express our profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his massive support for the programme.
“Without his strong backing, the huge deployments would not have been possible,” Otuaro said.
He also commended the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, for his supervision, insights and professional contributions to the programme.

programme,” he said.
