The Enugu State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has reinforced its commitment to the welfare of corps members with the delivery of 550 high-quality Vitafoam mattresses to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Awgu. The mattresses form the first batch of the 1,000 mattresses earlier approved by the State Government to improve accommodation facilities at the camp.
The arrival of the mattresses was greeted with excitement and appreciation by the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II corps members, many of whom expressed delight at the significant improvement in their living conditions.
The mattresses were received on behalf of the corps members by the NYSC Enugu State Coordinator, Mrs. Oluwakemi Awolola, who commended the Governor for his unwavering support and responsiveness to the needs of the Scheme.
Mrs. Awolola noted that the intervention would greatly enhance the comfort and well-being of corps members during the orientation course and reflects the State Government’s strong partnership with the National Youth Service Corps.
The gesture further demonstrates Governor Mbah’s dedication to youth development and his administration’s resolve to provide a conducive environment for corps members serving in Enugu State.
