Abuja, Dec. 19, 2025 (NAN) The Ladies’ Golf Association of Nigeria (LGAN) has congratulated its Matron, Mrs Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, on her appointment as Commission Chief Executive (CCE) of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).

The congratulatory message is contained in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja and signed by the President of LGAN, Dr Lami Ahmed.

Dr Ahmed described the appointment as a landmark achievement for Mrs Eyesan and a major boost for women in Nigeria’s male-dominated energy sector.
“On behalf of the Trustees, National Executives and all members of the Ladies’ Golf Association of Nigeria, I extend our warmest congratulations to Mrs Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan on her well-deserved appointment as CCE of NUPRC,” she said.
According to the LGAN President, Mrs Eyesan’s elevation is not only a personal triumph but a collective victory for women aspiring to leadership across strategic sectors of the economy.
“Mrs Eyesan’s rise to this pivotal position is a powerful statement that competence, diligence and professionalism will always find expression, irrespective of gender,” Dr Ahmed noted.
She described Mrs Eyesan as a seasoned petroleum economist with over 33 years’ experience at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), adding that her depth of technical knowledge makes her one of the most qualified professionals to head the upstream regulator.
“With her vast experience and proven track record, she stands out as one of the most technically grounded leaders ever appointed to lead the NUPRC,” she said.
Dr Ahmed also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what she termed a strategic, merit-based and forward-looking appointment.
“We express our profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for entrusting this critical national assignment to a thoroughly bred professional.
“This decision underscores his administration’s commitment to meritocracy and the empowerment of qualified women,” she added.
The LGAN President further highlighted Mrs Eyesan’s role as former Group General Manager, NNPC Corporate Planning and Strategy, where she was instrumental in the technical and commercial drafting of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA).
“She has consistently shattered glass ceilings and played defining roles in shaping Nigeria’s energy reforms. Her career is a testament to what women can achieve when given the right opportunities,” Dr Ahmed said.
She noted that Mrs Eyesan, a golfer of repute, has also contributed immensely to the growth of the association as its Matron.
“Beyond her professional excellence, she has remained a strong supporter of women’s golf and mentorship through LGAN,” she stated.

Dr Ahmed expressed confidence that under Mrs Eyesan’s leadership, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission would witness transformative growth, innovation and sustainable development.
“We are confident that her leadership will usher in progress, strengthen regulatory effectiveness and further secure Nigeria’s energy future,” she said.
She congratulated Mrs Eyesan once again, describing her as a beacon of inspiration to women and young professionals across the country.(NAN)
