Abuja, Oct. 14, 2025 (NAN) Chairman and CEO of Green White Green (GWG) Sports Centre, Hon. Ahmed Shuaibu Gara-Gombe, has extended support to Team Nigeria at the ongoing ITTF Africa Championships in Tunisia.
Gara-Gombe visited the Nigerian contingent at the Rades Multi-Sports Complex, where he treated the players to a meal. The gesture aimed to motivate them during the continental tournament.
“As a proud Nigerian, I am moved by the success of our teams. This table tennis squad holds a special place in my heart,” he said.
He described the team as an inspiration and praised their dedication and conduct under the guidance of legend Segun Toriola.
“I visited the venue twice to cheer them. I felt they needed an extra boost, so I hosted them to lift their spirits,” he added.
The former Gombe Athletics Association boss said his gesture was a “humble token of support” and wished the team success in their matches.
President of ITTF Africa, Wahid Enitan Oshodi, thanked Gara-Gombe for the morale-boosting act.
“We sincerely appreciate his support. Hosting the players in Tunis is both inspiring and uplifting,” Oshodi said.
He described Gara-Gombe as a true friend of table tennis and a passionate sports supporter.(NAN)
