
Enyimba International FC of Aba on Saturday thrashed Inter Aba FC 5-2 in the ongoing seventh edition of TICO/SELECT inter state football tournament.
The tournament was the seventh edition taking place in two centres, Aba and Enugu.
In the second match of day of the tournament, played inside Enyimba Stadium, Chizurum Erondu opened the scoring for Enyimba in the first minute of match.
Sunday Victor made it 2-0 in the third minutes but Odinaka Ogobe reduced the tally to 2-1 before doubling it in 41 minute made it 3-1 for Enyimba before the break.
Enyimba started from where they stopped in the 61st minute when Sunday Bassey made it 4-1 and Henry Ndedi increased the tally to 4-1 in 78th minute.
in spite of the whitewash of the amateur team, Chinwekele Ubani was not dimoralised as he reduced the scoreline to 5-2 for his team.
In his post match interview , Enyimba coach, Ndubuisi Nduka said he expected his team to score more goals with clean sheet against the amateur team.
He expressed disappointment over his team’s two penalties conceded and said the technical team will work on the lapses before the season kicks off.
In addition, KMK FC Academy of Uyo, hammered their opponents from Delta State, Excellent FC Academy 5-0 in the first match of the day.
