The Chairman of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area, Hon. Barr. Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze was present at the grand conferment ceremony of chieftaincy title on Hon. Jonathan Emmanuel Ikechukwu as the Ede-Eze of Alor-Agu community.


Ukwueze who is also the Deputy Chairman of ALGON Enugu state, lauded the harmonious traditions of Alor-Agu and reaffirmed the council’s commitment to fostering cultural pride and community progress.
The chieftaincy title conferment, which was performed by the Oriewu Uwani, alongside members of Oha-Alor, showcased the rich cultural heritage of Alor-Agu Kingdom, one of the 20 communities in Igbo-Eze South LGA.
The ceremony also had the rare presence of the Chairman Enugu State Traditional Rulers Councils and Igwe of Edem Ani Autonomous Community, HRH. Igwe Samuel Ikechukwu Asadu (Ogadagidi 1 of Edem Ani).
Asadu who is the immediate past Chairman of South East Traditional Rulers Council, commended the people of Alor-Agu for rewarding excellence and service to humanity.
He said that Jonathan is man that derives joy in serving humanity adding that the chieftaincy title conferred on him will encourage him to give more to the development of the committee.
The Chairman of Enugu State Traditional Rulers Council said that chieftaincy titles are meant for people who care for the well-being of the people.
In his thank you remarks, Chief Emmanuel Ikechukwu-Jonathan, commended all the guests that honored his invite.
Jonathan promised to live up to the expectations of the people adding, “I will serve my people will all my heart,”.
