
The Labour Party (LP) Enugu State on Thursday conducted Primary Election across the 17 local government area of Enugu State to select candidates for the coming local government election in February 2024.
In the contest for the Chairmanship Position in UDI LGA, a well known Labour Party Stalwart Hon Onyedika Madueke Augustine won the primary election in an atmosphere that was very peaceful and organized.
Hon Onyedika Popularly known as Ezechitubelugo 1 of Amokwe in UDI South Constituency won with thirty three Votes to beat Ugwu Christian Ogbozor (Chief OMERUOHA) who Polled nineteen Votes with Hon Victor UCHEDIENYI P.O coming third.
ln his Victory Speech at the labour Party office along Abor road ninth mile Hon Onyedika Madueke noted that he came into the race with a six point agenda which includes Agropreneurship, Education, Security,Rural electrification, Youth and women empowerment and Road infrastructure development amongst others to change the leadership narratives in UDI local government.
Hon Onyedika gave thanks to the labour Party heirachy for the opportunity given to him serve his Constituency and to the delegates he thanked them for believing in him and will not take the opportunity for granted.
He further enjoined his fellow contestants to join him to win the forth coming election in the local government area.
