As the count down to the Judgement of the Enugu State Governorshp Election Petitions Tribunal on the March 18, governorship election draws near, Dr John Okechukwu Nwokeabia the Deputy governorship candidate of Labour Party has continued to play host to various communities, Executives and Stakeholders of labour Party in his residence.
On Friday 15th of September it was the turn of Aninri local government area Labour Party Executives, Stakeholders and Party faithful who paid a Solidarity Visit to the Deputy Governorship Candidate, HIS Excellency Dr John Nwokeabia.
The guests were led by the Chairman of labour Party in Aninri Hon. Benjamin Ajah and a Labour Party Chieftain Chief Celestine Chukwu who have been a pillar for the labour Party in the words of the Party Chairman.
In his opening remarks, the Chairman who came in Company of his Executives noted that inspite of the Special Challenges that Aninri local government faced during the election they still ensured that LP was not Cowed by the the ruling Party.
Speaking further on their reason for the visit, Ajah noted that the visit was to convey to his Excellency the resolve of the Aninri people to continue to identify with the party in solidarity with the giant strides recorded by the party during the last election.
Hon. Pius Ani, Pst. Odinaka Innocent, Ohamadike Paul, Hon. Ekpete and Comr. Ikeh Decency in their respective speeches commended the Labour Party in Enugu State led by Barrister Chijioke Jonathan Edeoga and his Deputy Governorship Candidate Dr John Okechukwu Nwokeabia, for their exemplary leadership that they brought to bear during the rallies leading to the election which brought about the great change in the way Enugu people voted massively for the party that led to the number of candidates elected at all levels that today the ruling Party is in the minority in the State House of Assembly.
Some other dignitaries who spoke included Chief Emma Obi (OBATA) a Chieftain of labour Party Enugu State who thanked the guests and gave them assurance that everything is working well as the appeal court Judgements across the country in the last 48 hours showed that the Judiciary will live up to their responsibility in the remaining judgements.
The Chief host, Dr John Okechukwu Nwokeabia, who was beaming with smiles stood up to a resounding claps and Songs of Solidarity from the guests.
He apologized for the lateness in giving a green light for the visit due to some unforseen circumstances but went ahead to address their worries about the governorship election judgement which is in the front burner.
He requested that they Should continue with the registration of new members as its obvious that labour Party is the way to go as the results of the last election had confirmed.
