CGG CONDEMS THE ADAMAWA SHOW OF SHAME.
The Coalition for Good Governance Southeast Chapter has condemned the recent Show of shame during the rerun of the ADAMAWA Governorship election where the REC Hudu Yunusa Ari usurped the function of the Returning officer by announcing the result of the rerun election that the winner was Aisha Binani Dahiru while a substantial number of votes from many local governments in the state was still coming into the collation center.
In a Press statement release and signed by the Southeast Coordinator of the CCG Chief Adonys Igwe JP, noted that in other clime the REC should be in jail for his attempted coup.
He noted that the worrying aspect was that, the REC had the full compliment of the Security when he was announcing the election result half way while the collation of the result was on, but was pleased that the Commissioner of Police have been redeployed. In the same vein the Coalition was wondering what has happened to the 14,000 votes that INEC cancelled during the March 18th Governorship election in Enugu State where for the purpose of ensuring that PDP Candidate, Dr Peter Mbah wins at all costs with an accredited voters of 7,000 as recorded by the BIVAS turned out to be 30,000 votes.
“Which after Complaints from the Labour Party and some other Parties, INEC did the unthinkable by reviewing the votes from 30000 to 16,000 that eventually gave the PDP the edge with 3,000 votes to win the election.
“The question the CGG is asking is what happened to the 14,000 votes that was removed and where have this kind of review ever been
Carried out by INEC, ” he said.
According to him, ,whereas in the same election the INEC ordered a rerun in a polling unit in Oji River local government area where an over voting of four Votes was recorded during the March 18th election.
“The CGG is strongly asking why didn’t the INEC order rerun in the governorship poll where Nkanu East local government recorded over voting.
He said that as the election Petitions have now shifted to the Tribunals the CGG requests that the Justices in the Temple should live up to expectations of the general public and deliver judgements that will give hope to the common man that the judiciary is the last hope for the general public.
