Enugu LP raises alarm over tampering of PU results, warns of grave consequences
The Labour Party (LP) in Enugu State has raised the alarm over attempts by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation officers at the LGAs to replace original results from the polling units with fake results prepared by the ruling PDP.
Barr. Casmir Agbo, Chairman of the party, raised the alarm Sunday morning in a statement made available to newsmen in Enugu.
Agbo said that the consequences of such action will be grave and warned those planning such act to desist from such forthwith.
He said that the party and their agents across the 17 LGAs are on red alert and would not accept anything short of transparent announcement of results as uploaded from from the polling units.
He said: “Our attention has been drawn to the current attempts being made to manipulate the results of yesterday’s election as uploaded from polling units across the state.
“That is completely unacceptable by us and any results announced by INEC, which does not reflect the uploaded result from irev at various polling units will be met with stiff resistance.”
The chairman enjoined all LP supporters to remain calm while awaiting the announcement of the results by the INEC.
