EEDC Staff, Ilo, emerges as Enugu NIPR Chairman

The 2022 Annual General Meeting of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Enugu State Chapter, has ended in Enugu with election of a 9-member executive to run its affairs for the next two years.
Hon. Faustinus Chinedu Ilo of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) was elected as chairman while Dr Oluebube Chukwu from University of Nigeria, Nsukka was elected as Vice Chairman.
Dr Stanley Onyedikachi Onovo from Nigerian Railway Cooperation, Enugu was elected as Secretary.
Others were: Mr Otuonye Samuel from Horopec Investment Nigeria Ltd (Assistant Secretary) Mrs. Ihuoma Philips Daniel from Setraco Nig. Ltd (Treasurer)
Obianuju Onyemelukwe from Radio Nigeria, Enugu (Financial Secretary)
Mr. Onah Donatus Amaechi from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Enugu ( Welfare Officer) Mr. Nnamoko Chukwuka from Nkanu West Local Government Area (Public Relations Officer)
Mr Anele Desmond from the Presidency, National Lottery Trust Fund (Assistant Welfare Officer)
In his keynote address, the newly elected Secretary, Dr Onovo called on Nigerians to shun corruption and place the interest of the nation above personal interest, ahead of 2023 general election.
Dr Onovo called on Public Relations Practitioners to be experts in information management as information mismanaged can worsen the already bad security situation in the country.
Also speaking, the immediate-past State Chairman of the NIPR, Dr. Ifeanyi Ojobor thanked members of the Institute for the opportunity to serve and promised to always be available to assist the new executive in whatever areas they may need his help.
Earlier in a welcome address, the AGM Committee Chairman, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu thanked all those present and said that this year’s AGM signposts a significant landmark in the enduring forward trajectory of the Enugu State Chapter of the NIPR.
In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations NIPR Enugu State Chapter, Hon. Ilo promised to take the NIPR Enugu State Chapter to the next level.
He asked for the prayers and support of all members in the task ahead.
The high point of the occasion was the swearing-in of the new NIPR Enugu State Executive members by NIPR National Council member, Mr. Sunny Osuji who supervised the election.
