Prof. Nick Ezeh unveils a 7-point development policy for Enugu West Senatorial zone
The All Progressives Congress (APC), Senatorial Candidate for Enugu West Senatorial Zone, Prof. Nick Ezeh, said he would pursue human capital development through Seven Policy approaches in his zone, if elected.
Addressing journalists at APC Enugu State Secretariat, the candidate whose manifesto is titled: Restoration Mandate 2023 also stated he would pursue an aggressive infrastructural development.
“I will pursue an aggressive inclusiveness template and ensure even distribution of infrastructural development…and attract employment for the teeming citizens of Enugu West Senatorial District.”
“I will ensure justice, equity and fairness to all our constituents as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, ” he said.
According to him, the Seven Policy approaches include: Poverty Reduction, Tackling Unemployment, Creating Public Access to Reach Him, Education, Industrialization of the Zone to Reverse Forced Migration to Urban Areas, Setting Programmes to Curb Cultural and Moral Value Crisis, and Mentorship.
“I shall exploit the time-tested wealth distribution apprenticeship system of our people, which has attracted global attention and has become a field of study known as capital accumulation processunder Harvard Business School, to develop a 15-year plan of creating new millionaires,” for the eradication of poverty, ” he said.
He said to tackle unemployment, he would engage unemployed youth in his zone through agribusiness development, promising that the intervention programmes due to his people would be fully accessed..
In the area of Education Ezeh promised to raise the quality of education in his zone and to also introduce adult school in the area of agribusiness and to give scholarships to the indigent youth of his zone.
“I intend to reverse or at least reduce rural-urban migration by attracting industrialization to our zone not only through legislative action, but equally by tapping into my international network of investors, ” he said.
He further stated that he would make concerted effort to equip the youth in his zone with the prerequisite skills that could support them to cope with the changing demographics of most urban locations and oversea nations.
On mentorship, Prof. Ezeh said he would organise periodic seminars on leadership; work with all existing welfare, cooperative and development unions in the constituency to deploy the “Capital Accumulation Process” in raising skilled labour among the youth.
“In the fast-expanding clean energy enterprise and in ICT; focus on renewable energy with special interest in the local manufacturing of solar energy panels and allied services within the zone, ” he said.
