A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Enugu state, Chief Emmanuel Okenwa, has officially decamped to the Labour Party, (LP) to support the emergence of Mr. Peter Obi as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Barr. Chijioke Edeoga, as the Governor of Enugu State.
Okenwa who was officially received into the Labour Party on Sunday at his Amichi home town in Enugu state by Barr. Chijioke Edeoga, the Labour Party Governorship Candidate in the state, said that he will put in his best to ensure the victory of Labour Party in his ward and hometown.
Okenwa commended Edeoga for his determination to take Enugu back to the people of the state through the Labour Party adding, “God will crown his efforts with victory”.
Okenwa said, “my motive for leaving my party the APC for Labour Party is to join hands with the competent candidates of Labour party both at national and state level to rebuild Nigeria and Enugu state in particular”.
In his remarks while receiving Okenwa in to the party, the Labour Party Governorship Candidate in Enugu State, Barr. Chijioke Edeoga, appreciated him, “for this rare move and support to take Enugu state back to the people”.
Edeoga commended Okenwa and the good people of Enugu state for their incessant supports and prayers so far in the journey to have a new Enugu state.
The Enugu State Labour Party Governorship Candidate used the opportunity to encourage his supporters and Labour party faithfuls in the state to remain focused and avoid any distraction from anyone as according him “the movement for a new Enugu state had just begun”.
