The argument for inclusivity in governance, which is in every mouth today in Nigeria from ward level to Local Government Areas, States and Federal government, gave birth to the theory of zoning.
This argument for zoning is cystal clear on the grounds that it gives sense of belonging to every components within the environment where it is practised deviod of prejudice.
One can simply put, that zoning protects both the weak and the strong. What this means is that, in zoning you’re not expected to have a dominant force of the majority or money bags against the poor and the minority. In the final analysis, zoning connotes equity, fairness and justice.
In law and natural justice, approbation and reprobation simultaneously are complete abberation! It is double standard, hypocritical and ungodly.
Meaning that you cannot be preaching and demanding zoning for the seat of the governorship of Enugu state to Enugu East Senatorial district on the macro level, and at the same time, denying or closing your eyes to the rationality of the micro level of the zoning which simply favors Enugu East/Isi-Uzo Federal Constituency.
The above argument is unambiguously clear and rational too, on the ground that within the six LGAs in our district, that it is only one federal constituence that has neither produced a governor nor deputy governor, be it when were in the old Anambra state or when Enugu gained creation in 1997.
The implication of the above is that any argument, shenanigans, plots, or conspiracy against micro zoning the governorship position to Enugu East and Isi-Uzo LGAs as a federal constituency, is a mere charade anchored by unserious minded folks.
Then again, when you look at the above two LGAs, you will see that Enugu East LGA just finished two terms of eight years at the Senate. Currently, they have a serving Speaker of Enugu state Parliament who will be completing his two terms of eight years as Speaker of Enugu State House of Assembly by 2023. A again they have member representing our Federal Constituency in the green chambers, Abuja.
Hence in the true spirit of equity and justice which zoning represents, it will be fair and just that the zoning we agitate and preached, is further micro zoned to Isi-Uzo where we have nothing to at the moment to write about regarding public office representation in our Senatorial zone.
Please let us not be making mistake of bringing state party Chairmanship of PDP to the equation of public representation because those who are in the political parties of APC, APGA, PDC, Accord, etc in our district are not answerable to Enugu state PDP Chairman and that is factual.
Finally, the self constituted Nkanu East Consultative Forum or Front, should understand that the above facts as stated are speaking for themselves hence while they have constitutional right to aspire for any political position in Nigeria, and that of Enugu governorship inclusive, they should also look at the wise saying which has it that he who must come to equity must do so with clean hands.
To every godly mind amongst them and Enugu state at large, will it be fair that we collectively agitate for Igbo Presidency come May 2023 and also agitate for the governorship position of Enugu State coming to Enugu East zone, and Nkanu East whose Federal Constituency produced Governor Chimaroke Nnamani in 1999, whose LGA has equally produced two Deputy governors, a Minister of Federal Republic of Nigeria, a Secretary of State Government, etc, will now be engaging in this level of mind games of playing with our collective intelligence, by quoting every single person they have met on the cause of their unholy consultation out of context? Thank goodness that God is the righteous judge and in this struggle he is the final arbiter.
