Port Harcourt – Super Eagles Supporters’ Club has appointed the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, as National Patron of the club.
National President of the club, Mr Vincent Okumagba, announced the appointment in a statement issued by Media Head of OPM, Frank Laga, on Monday in Port Harcourt.
Okumagba said that the decision to appoint Chinyere as its national patron was taken in view of his selfless and humanitarian services to the poor and less-privileged.
“So, we decided to induct Apostle Chinyere as our National Patron, in recognition of his humanitarian assistance to thousands of Nigerians across all religious and ethnic divides.
“We also recognise him as the spiritual father of Super Eagles Supporters’ Club, going by his exemplary humanitarian services.
“To further honour him, we are also going to inscribe OPM at the back of our club’s jersey,” he stated.

Okumagba said that no fewer than 100 members of the church would be giving automatic membership of the club.
The statement quoted Chinyere as having thanked the club for the recognition and prayed for its growth.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Chinyere has awarded scholarships to thousands of Nigerians to study abroad and operated free schools for pupils and students.
The church also operates a free specialist hospital in Port Harcourt which has delivered expectant mothers of no fewer than 1,000 babies as well as provides free accommodation for the homeless, among others.
NAN learnt the church funds its charity works through tithes and offerings from members. (NAN)
