A Rivers State High Court has ordered the National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Uche Secondus, to stop parading himself as the party’s helmsman.
The order given on Monday has worsened the leadership crisis currently rocking the opposition party.
The order was given by Justice O. Gbasam of the state high court sitting in Degema Local Government Area of the state.
The judge also approved the suspension of Secondus as a member of the party pending the hearing and determination of a motion on notice for interlocutory injunction.
The order followed a complaint brought before the court by some aggrieved members of the party.
The suit No: PHC/2183/CS/2021 ws filed by Ibeawuchi Ernest Alex, Dennis Nna Amadi, Emmanuel Stephen and Umezirike Onucha against Uche Secondus (1st defendant) and the PDP (2nd defendant).
The judge made the pronouncement after reading the affidavit in support of the motion of ex parte and after hearing the submission of H.A. Bello, counsel to the applicants. ##
