Deputy Inspector-General of Police in-charge of Department of ICT and the supervisory DIG of South East geo-political zone, DIG Celestine Okoye, on Sunday night at the Government House Enugu, appealed to Enugu Youths to embrace peace and discourage any form of destruction in the state.
The DIG who made the appeal while briefing newsmen alongside Gov. Ugwuanyi, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmad Abdurrahman, other top government and police officers, urged Enugu youths to keep their eyes open and ensure that miscreants do not cause further mayhem in the state.
The DIG appealed to Enugu youths, after a closed-door meeting with Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, revealing that those who caused mayhem in Enugu were from a neighbouring state.
He said, “Let’s embrace peace; don’t allow miscreants destroy what your fathers/forefathers worked and suffered for”,
“Parents should advise their wards to desist from acts of violence and criminality, as Enugu is now calm for business and normal daily activities to return”.
