APC Youth Group Inaugurates 23-Member Steering Committee, Targets 300,000 Votes in FCT

Abuja November 3, 2026.The FCT Abuja Youth Participation Action Community (FAYPAC), a youth mobilisation platform affiliated with All Progressives Congress (APC), has inaugurated a 23-member steering committee to deepen grassroots political mobilisation across the Federal Capital Territory.
A statement in Abuja on Tuesday by the convener of the group Amb. Ayuba Jacob Ngbako indicates that the initiative was specifically designed to expand youth political engagement for persons aged between 18 and 45 years across the six area councils.
According to him,the initiative was conceived to bridge what he described as a persistent gap in effective political participation among the teeming youth population residing in the FCT ahead of future electoral contests.
He said composition of the 23-member steering committee comprises six area council coordinators representing AMAC, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje, Kwali and Abaji, alongside six coordinators drawn to represent the six geopolitical zones of the country.
He said the remaining 11 positions in the committee include the women leader, youth leader, organising secretary, publicity secretary, legal adviser, elders and other critical officials saddled with specific organisational responsibilities for effective grassroots coordination across the territory.
Ngbako said each area council would have a minimum of 17 steering or executive committee members, while each ward would maintain three representatives at every polling unit level across the entire Federal Capital Territory.
He further disclosed that the expansive grassroots structure is expected to cover all 62 political wards and more than 2,500 polling units spread across the six area councils of the FCT for effective penetration and voter mobilisation.
Ngbako projected that the organisation, when fully operational across all polling units, could effectively mobilise at least 50,000 votes in each of the six area councils, amounting to a cumulative target of 300,000 votes for APC.
He announced that the newly constituted 23-member steering committee would be formally inaugurated this week at Ogun House, located at No. 74, Central Business District, Abuja.
According to him, the event is expected to attract youth stakeholders.
Ngbako said the inauguration of the steering committee would be immediately followed by the establishment and subsequent inauguration of the organisation’s structures at both area council and ward levels across the Federal Capital Territory.
He said that the initiative was ultimately aimed at strengthening youth participation in governance and build a coordinated, sustainable grassroots mobilisation network for the APC ahead of future political activities within the FCT.
