The Nsukka Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NSCCIMA), says it will host the 3rd Quarter Executive Committee (Exco) and National Council Meeting of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), alongside the 2026 Trade Expo and Exhibitions.
This is contained in a statement issued by Chief Sam Otoboeze, ESQ, President, NSCCIMA.
According to Otoboeze, the event slated to hold at the Ekpo Hall, University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), from 15th to 20th September, 2026.
The NCCIMA president said that the hosting rights followed a strategic bid in which “NSCCIMA presented Nsukka not merely as a willing host but as a natural national convergence point”.
“Nsukka shares close contiguity with Anambra, Kogi, Benue, Ebonyi and Enugu States; Nsukka sits at the meeting point of the South-East and North-Central business corridors — enabling broader multi-state participation; deeper inter-regional trade dialogue; and an expanded NACCIMA footprint across an economic belt spanning five contiguous states, ” he said.
According to him, the meeting will bring together over 500 delegates comprising NACCIMA’s national leadership, Presidents and delegates of chambers of commerce from across the Federation, captains of industry and senior representatives of government.
“Making Nsukka, for that period, the meeting point of organised private sector leadership in Nigeria.
“This is more than a meeting on our calendar; it is a statement about where Nsukka is headed.
“For the first time since 1960, the leadership of the organised private sector in Nigeria will gather here in Nsukka, to see for themselves, that this zone is rich in high-value agricultural clusters, agro-processing prospects, solid minerals and SME-driven commerce.
“We intend to make sure that what they see convinces them to invest, to partner, and to return.” Otoboeze said.
He added that with the events holding on the grounds of the first land-grant university in Africa, the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and the fast-rising Maduka University in close proximity, the chamber will use the occasion to foster structured dialogue between research institutions and the organislsed private sector — translating innovation into enterprise.
“The Chamber will also convene State a meeting of state representatives, policymakers, traditional institutions, development partners and captains of industry from neighbouring states, elevating the Council Meeting into a broader strategic economic engagement platform for the region, ” he said.
According to him, the 2026 Trade Expo and Exhibitions will feature exhibition pavilions for manufacturers, agro-processors, miners, artisans and SMEs; business-to-business and business-to-government sessions; and investment presentations in agriculture, solid minerals, manufacturing and services.
