Gen. Eze, ADC state chairman
The Chairman of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Enugu State chapter, Major General Chris Eze, rtd, says Tuesday’s judgement by Appeal Court on ADC and Accord party is victory for multiparty democracy.
Eze said this while reacting to the judgement.
It would be recalled that the Court of Appeal set aside the earlier judgement delivered by Justice Lifu of the Federal High Court, deregistering ADC, Accord, and others, declaring it a nullity.
The Appeal Court held that the ruling was delivered despite an existing order of the appellate court.
The court also ruled that those who filed the suit lacked the legal standing to do so, describing their claims as speculative and without merit.
Speaking to NAN in a telephone interview, Eze said that the judgement was a victory for the people to make their preferred choices in 2027.
“Those who wanted a one-party state because of fear of defeat in the coming elections as a result of failure in governance are beginning to see their ill-conceived hopes unraveling.
“Congratulations to all ADC members all over the world, ” he said.
In the same vein, former Accord party governorship candidate in Enugu State, Barrister John Nwobodo said the judgement was a welcome relief to the affected political parties.
