
The MainPower Electricity Distribution Limited (MEDL), has announced a planned power outage in some parts of Enugu metropolis to enable its engineers undertake major repairs in some parts of the city.
Mr Emeka Ezeh the Head, Communications of the company said this in a statement on Sunday in Enugu.
According to him, the power outage is scheduled to take place on May 10 from 8a.m to 6p.m.
He said the planned power outage was to provide a safe working environment for engineers to conclude work on the reconstructed Emene Industrial Lines 1 and 2 towers.
He added that the engineers would also carry out the restringing of wires.
He said that as a result, power supply to the following 33KV lines would be temporarily disrupted: Trans Ekulu, Thinkers Corner, Ituku Ozalla, and Ugwogo.
“Consequently, customers residing in Trans-Ekulu, Emene, Thinkers Corner, Emenite, Airport, Alo Aluminium, Akpuoga, Nkwubor, Ugwuomu, Abakpa-Nike, Nike-Lake, Ugwogo, and surrounding areas served by affected 33KV lines will be without electricity supply during the period.
“We sincerely regret the inconvenience this may cause our esteemed customers.
“We also appeal for their understanding and cooperation, especially some customers served by Emene Industrial Lines 1 and 2 who have been without supply for some days,” he said.
Ezeh said that power supply would be restored immediately after the completion of the exercise.
