
The Enugu State House of Assembly has lauded the State Swimming Association for it’s initiative to organize National Security Swimming Championship in Enugu.
The Chairman House Committee on Youth, Sports & Security, Hon. Raymond Ugwu, made the commendation when he received the leadership of the association in his office.
“I really commend you for this laudable initiative, ” Ugwu said.
He said that the championship would create opportunities for youth engagement and improve security in Enugu State and Nigeria at large.
According to him, the house would always support any initiative that will engage the young population in the state.
Speaking, the Chairman of Enugu State Swimming Association, Mathias Madus said that the association was doing all it can to make Enugu State a swimming destination in Nigeria.
He said more championships were on the way and solicited the support of the assembly in it’s plans to take swimming to the highest level in the state.
Madus thanked the State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Lloyd Ekweremmadu for his support and encouragement.
The championship is scheduled for June 27, 2024 in Enugu, the state capital.
