
Mr Aderemi Adeoye, Commissioner of Police in Anambra, has tasked the recruitment board team in the State to ensure professionalism and transparency in the recruitment process.
The information was contained in a press statement made avaliable to journalists in Awka on Monday by DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, Anambra Police spokes person.
Adeoye requested the team to put their wealth of knowledge and efficiency in the recruitment process to ensure that only best heads are selected to join the police.
The Commissioner of Police, made the request while addressing the recruitment board members ahead of the commencement of the process slated to hold in Awka from Monday
The Officers in attendance at the meeting includes, DCP Okey Nwabufo, Head of the Police team, Mrs. Okoli Anuli Elfreda, leading the Southeast Police service commission (PSC) team.and Mrs. Okolo Agatha Anulika, representing Police Affairs.
Adeoye emphasised the importance of maintaining a fair and merit-based selection process during the recruitment of new officers to join the Anambra State Police Force.
He stressed the need for transparency and professionalism, ensuring that only the most qualified candidates are chosen to join the force.
Adeoye commended the board members for their dedication and reminded them of the importance of their task in building a competent and reliable police force.
He also urged the prospective candidates to prepare themselves adequately, as they will be expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
The Commissioner emphasised that updates on the progress would be communicated to the public through official channels.
He urged members of the public to disregard unverified information regarding the recruitment and to report any incidents of corruption or misconduct by those involved in the process.
“With the recruitment board now convened, the selection process for new officers in the Anambra State Police Force is expected to proceed in an impartial and transparent manner.
“ensuring that only the most capable individuals are entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining law and order in the state,” Adeoye charged.
The statement noted that DCP Nwabufo, Head of the Police team, highlighted the rigorous steps involved in the recruitment process.
He outlined the various stages, including written examinations, physical fitness tests, medical examinations, and interviews.
He said that all processes was designed to select individuals with the necessary skills and character traits required for effective policing.
Mrs. Okoli Anuli Elfreda, who heads the Southeast PSC team, commended the effort put into the selection process.
She assured the Commissioner and other board members that her team would work diligently to ensure that every applicant is evaluated fairly, without any form of bias or favoritism.
Mrs. Anulika Okolo, representing police Affairs expressed her gratitude for being part of the recruitment board.
She pledged to contribute her expertise and experience to ensure a smooth and successful recruitment
