“I sincerely appreciate the endurance and perseverance of Ndi Enugu over the years, poverty shouldn’t be an option, that his main goal for contesting governorship election was to lift many people out of abject poverty of the pocket, mind, body, and soul.
“My mission was to fully develop Enugu and to reposition the state on the part of growth while lifting many people out of abject poverty. From hopelessness to complete hopefulness.
“My plan was to develop Enugu by building structures to harness the comparative advantage that our state has over other sub national entities within Nigeria.
“My focus was to build a multi facet economy, modern infrastructure in urban and rural areas, focus on developing the agricultural sector, diversifying the energy sector by investing in renewable energy, improving the transport system, delivering a cleaner environment that would forestall the effect of climate change, creating a welcoming environment that will make Enugu state the destination of choice for private investors.
“Recall that before the guber election, the AAC guber candidate promised that his administration would pay N50,000 minimum wage for Enugu workers if elected as Enugu governor.”
Ogbodo made the promise in Enugu, adding that his government would give hope to the hopeless as well as change the narrative for workers in the state.
According to him, “We will pay N50,000 minimum wage to workers from June 1, if we win and sworn in on May 29th, that is just the start as we have incremental stages over a four years period for up to N100,000.
“We have been on a campaign outreach in Enugu metropolis talking to people one on one to know their needs and to see things by ourselves.
“That was why we came up with five important agenda which include, Free Healthcare, Free Education, Opportunities, Prosperity and Security.
“If we can tackle the healthcare problem, things will be better because, one can only work when healthy,” he said.
Ogbodo said his government would create opportunities for the teaming youths to work and to spread the wealth.
“We want to give free Education with conducive learning environment, and those who do not have money for higher institution will have the opportunity to study.
“They can go to school and pay off their fees when they are employed, jobs will be there for the youths, that will give people hope, insecurity will be arrested,” he said.
Ogbodo described unemployment as one of the major agents of insecurity because it takes the youths into the street with arms to make ends meet.”
He said: “Leadership is about positive change, positive outcome, positive inspiration, positive influence and positive impact, and when you can’t offer such, you should not have interest in governance and public administration.
