Cultists surrender to police in Cross River
The Nigeria Police Ikom Division, has said that, three members of the Axe confraternity and Klans confraternity in Ikom, capital of Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State have renounced their membership of the groups.
CSP, Victor Usang, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) stated this in a statement made available to Journalists in Ikom.
He said the development was part of efforts of the police in the area to rid it of cultism and other criminal activities.
“‘We had three cult boys who renounced cultism yesterday, two from axe and one from klans confraternities respectively.
“They are Etta Dalinton andNduwu Raphael both from Nkim Abayong, and Joseph Udida from Obudu Local Government Area.
“The first two belong to axe confraternity, while the last person belongs to Klans Confraternity, ‘ he said.
Usang added that some members of the public, other security agencies, and the Ikom youth parliament witnessed the ceremony.
“After all due processes, they were imtegrated back into the community, ” he said.
The DPO called on other members of the same cult groups and other criminal gangs to surrender to the police to avoid the force descending on them.
