Massive voter turn out in Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency by-election
The February 26 by-election for Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency of Cross River State witnessed large turnout of voters at various polling units in Ogoja and YalaLocal Government Areas.
At St Michael Primary School Ibil Nkum in Ogoja polling unit 005 where Sen. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe cast his vote at aboit 9am, the electorate turned out in large numbers.
Also at Mbube West PU 007 Ogoja, voters turned out massively as early as 8:30am.
In Okuku Yala Local Government Area the situation was the same as voters turned out in large numbers ready to cast their votes.
At St Joseph Primary School Okuku 2, with seven polling units there was massive voter turn out while the exercise went on smoothly
Speaking to Journalists, the Senior Special Adviser to Gov. Ben Ayade on Political Affairs, Chief Peter Ojie shortly after casting his vote said he was happy that the exercise was peacful and hitch free.
Our correspondent gathered that there were no incidences of malfunctioning of the Bio-modal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) in all the polling centers visited.
